I bought this for my father and he absolutely loves it. He says its very warm even in Quebec and looks very nice. He has sent it to a dry-cleaning several times (I suspect to soften it) and it looks like new out of package. This is an excellent value, it'll probably be years before he has to buy another coat. I have an older winter lamb fur jacket with thick lining from cwmalls too. But that's too warm for me. This one has a thin liner so not as warm on it's own. Don't get me wrong I love this jacket and use it all the time during the winter in Cheyenne, in fact, it's more versatile than the heavier one. Just need to layer under it more when it's colder.
